Dylan Vaughn: Bio
Dylan plays with the Hamburger Symphoniker, Duo DA, Mardon & Vaughn, Trio Fantastik, The Cracks, Jochen Wiegandt, Dylan & Martin, D.C. Dylan & Christian, and Janice Harrington.
He has travelled and toured with singer Janice Harrington, performing concerts and leading Sing Out! Workshops throughout Germany, Israel, the West Bank, Bulgaria, and Lithuania.
He has written the music for many shows, including: Roald Dahl's, The Twits at The Belgrade Theater, Coventry and London West End Saddler’s Wells and full UK tour; and Muriel Hermine's water circus Crescend’O in Disneyland Paris and Cirque D’Hiver, Paris.
He composed/and co-arranged with John Mortimer the Steiff company musical, Teddy Bear 100 Years Celebration, Teddy; and he co-wrote Timber Tee with Martin Burns, the first internet golf club for kids. In the early 90s he wrote a song cycle The Marriage of True Minds based on the Shakespeare sonnets.
He played guitar & bass for A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors, Cats, Starlight Express, Beehive, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, and Der Blauer Engel/the Blue Angel, Hautnah, and many other theater productions, and was the guitar player for Sesame Street and recorded many TV and radio jingles.
Dylan studied guitar with his aunt Robin Lang, David Grenoble, Tim, Ed Harrison, Edgard Dana , Allan Alexander, and then at Stony Brook University, New York with Jerry Willard, and finally with Jose Luis Gonzalez in Alcoy, Spain and with José Tomás in the Oscar Espla Conservatory, Alicante, Spain where I graduated as Professor de la Guitarre with honours, Premio Extraordinario.
I was born in smack dab in the middle of America, in Enid, Oklahoma and was raised in the green lakeland mountains of New York, on the dazzling white Florida beaches, in the New Jersey heartland, on the rocky New Hampshire coast, and in the snowy wilds of Newfoundland, Canada.
